Volunteer Honour Code

WTC relies on the volunteering efforts of its members to keep the club operating.

All members agree to the club honour code charter whereby they are required to volunteer hours to the development of the club.

All members need to log 20 hours of volunteer time during a club year (Jan to Dec) and when they do they can avail of volunteering rewards.

There are three different awards offered to members who help with the organisation and development of the club.

Volunteer Rewards

When you have recorded 20 hours you can select one of the rewards below:

  1. 5 months of free coached spinning classes
  2. 2 free blocks of swimming lessons or 12 free sessions
  3. Free entry into 2 National Series races in the coming season

If you have just joined the club you will need to work up your hours over the coming months to avail of the rewards, the volunteer officer will be in touch with you.

Even without the rewards, you will be able to avail of our low-cost training plan, private coached swim and spinning sessions and skills workshops.

Volunteer Reward Levels

Volunteer Level 1 (Contribution of 20 volunteer hours annually)

Members who fulfill and log their 10 volunteer hours (10 hours to club development and 10 hours to fundraising) can avail of 1 volunteer reward as mentioned above.

Volunteer Level 2 (Contribution of 40 volunteer hours annually)

Members who take either a role on the executive committee or a head role in organising the Westport Triathlon can avail of 2 volunteer rewards as mentioned above. You must be elected at the AGM to the club Executive Committee.

Volunteer Level 3 (Contribution of 60 volunteer hours annually)

Members who take a role on the executive committee and a head role in organising the Westport Triathlon can avail of 3 volunteer tickets as mentioned above. You must be elected at the AGM to the club Executive Committee.
