Rules:

  • Competitors must be a member of Westport Triathlon Club.
  • Competitors must decide which League (Advanced, Intermediate or Beginner) they wish to compete in before 27th April 2017.
  • Competitors cannot change League thereafter.
  • Only points scored in National Series Triathlons and highlighted performance tests will count towards overall league position. Further details of National Series Triathlons can be found at https://www.triathlonireland.com/Events/Race-Series-Details/2016/National-Series.html
  • Results will be calculated as per the “30th percentile” points system with male and female members ranked separately. This is the same points system employed by Triathlon Ireland for the National Series - https://www.triathlonireland.com/Events/Race-Series-Details/2016/National-Series.html
  • Westport Triathlon Club has highlighted a number of different National Series races that we want to target as a group. Your participation is not mandatory - but is encouraged to create a bit of an atmosphere.
  • You may of course decide to attend other NS races that suit you better and the best of results of these will count towards your overall league position.
  • Competitors should aim to complete the minimum required amount of races as per the division they are competing in. They may participate in additional races if wish to improve results.
  • It is an athlete’s responsibility to know what races and tests need to be completed within the required dates for points to be eligible within league.
  • If the desired number of races is not completed by an athlete in a division, their best results will still be counted. For obvious reasons, if you complete the desired number of races and tests, you will be able to score maximum points available.
  • Only an athlete’s best results will be considered in league table.
  • Club league tables will be updated at the end of each calendar month.
  • In the interest of fair play, calculation of results will be made available for everybody.
  • If 2 or more competitors in the same league finish on equal points in 1st place, their best overall position in any attended National Series Triathlons will determine the outright winner.
  • The competitions office (Anthony Chappat) must be made aware via email of any disputed results within 14 days of a disputed event/test. Any appeals received after 14 days of an event/test will not be looked at.
